Anyone who has the time, the desire to contribute to development causes, and access to a computer and the Internet can become a Special Missions volunteer! Onliine volunteers do basically any kind of work that results in information/knowledge products. These may include translations, research on a particular topic, grant writing, editing and related. If you're interested, contact us at: srt@specialmissions.org
Translator You translate proposals, brochures, and reports related to health, education and development projects in Honduras. Depending on assignment, you translate accurately from Spanish to English or from English to Spanish. The time you volunteer varies based on your experience and the documents assigned. Preferably, you have experience in Central America or have a great desire to become very familiar with its multidimensional realities.
Researcher Your tools are on line engines and directories as you gather information on various topics and organizations that relate to the work of Special Missions. You have excellent attention to detail and love online surfing. You read extensively and volunteer about five hours in one-two weeks.
Grant Writer You are experienced in the grant writing process and are available at least 3 hours per week. You are creative in locating grant sources for international projects. You enjoy doing research, reading, writing, and editing. You are patient and do not need immediate gratification for the work you do.
